If there’s one thing that most homeowners agree on, it is that they don’t have enough closet space! But perhaps it is that you are not properly utilizing the closet space you already have.
1. Size it Up
Open up your closets and take copious notes of what you currently have. In particular, take note of what is working and what is not. Take measurements, take photographs and decide what exactly you need to accomplish in your closets.
2. Clear it Out
The easiest way to assess your closet situation is to clean it out and begin to throw away what is not needed. An easy way to accomplish this is to make a “keep” pile, a “throw away” pile and a “donate” pile. Be honest when you begin to sort your belongings. Do you really think you are going to wear your outdated clothes, or are they ready for the donate pile?
